The Ryder Cup, The World Cup, The Irish Open, The Walker Cup, The European Open, you name it, that event has taken place on one or other of the many great courses along Ireland's Eastern Seaboard.

In September 2006, the Ryder Cup matches were played at The K.Club on the Palmer Course. Now that the Arnold Palmer designed Smurfit Course has been opened, The K.Club is recognised as Europes most prestigious golf resort boasting two world class courses.

At nearby Carton House G.C. Mark O'Meara & Colin Montgomerie have designed two spectacular layouts. The K.Club & Carton House are just two of a number of outstanding complexes opened in the last decade or so. Druids Glen, voted European Course 2001 have opened their second course - Druids Heath, and have welcomed The Marriott Hotel Group who have opened their first hotel in Ireland at this spectacular venue.

Others that spring to mind are Powerscourt, Rathsallagh, & St. Margarets, Malahide, Donabate, and many more hidden gems. The PGA National Course at Palmerstown House on the outskirts of Dublin is considered to be on the of the most spectacular parkland courses in Ireland.


World renowned Portmarnock (Old) takes pride of place as one of the worlds great links courses, that has stood the test of time. It is just one of the many magnificent links that roam along the eastern seaboard from Baltray and Seapoint in Co. Louth, through The Island at Donabate, Royal Dublin & St. Anne's at Dollymount Strand and the highly acclaimed European Club at Brittas Bay. Many lesser known links and parkland courses are in the region, which offers superb golf, combined with the warmth of the Irish people.
